HS initially begins as a small pimple and gradually spreads to a larger area. It can cause to painful, swollen abscesses beneath the skin, as well as leaking lesions when they become fistulous. During the healing process, the skin can become hardened due to fibrosis, leading to restrictions in the surrounding joint movements. In this condition, the patient may experience limitations in leg and arm movements. In this situation, the patient starts to have difficulties in their daily activities. As these wounds expand, it creates a vicious cycle that becomes a challenging situation.
